For me to not work means to be idle. Being idle is more than just a four-letter word, it's morally detestable even. It's been ingrained in my nature to always be contributing. Usually in a specific, productive, & practical way. When I was growing up "self-care" wasn't a thing in my household and the culture of more (work) reigned. But as I settle into motherhood, for the second time, I look to this phrase: Will I be an example or a warning?Diving Deep Into Detachment
As Venus enters Pisces (3/12, 5:24 am EST), embracing this energy gives dreamy & romantic notions and ups the empathy factor in relationships. You might be called into the land daydreams a bit more often and the rose-colored glasses might be hard to remove. The deep & abiding empathy of Pisces makes the Venusian energy even softer & gentler, promoting a compassionate understanding in all your close relationships. Directing this energy towards yourself will allow you to find infinite patience & an Otherworldly detachment to keep you in the flow of the Universe. Slowing It DownTaking more time off than I'm used to has allowed so much more space in my life. So much so, that sometimes I'm really not sure what to do with it all. Frankly, it can be downright distressing! But as I slowly embrace the concept I'm finding my flow and falling into ease with my schedule more & more often! One of the many things I've made a larger priority has been a set of practices surrounding energy management & self-care. Journaling, pranayama, some prayer recitations, and focusing in on the day's #meditativemessage have all been powerful & calming! Ditching the Addiction of MoreIn the modern culture we inhabit, More has become this illustrious idol. It beckons us at every turn, with newer & shinier objects each time. There is this indoctrination we have become subject to ~ to be more, do more, have more. Embodying excess not just in the form of gluttony & greed, but also subtler manners. One of the conversations that has been coming up for me quite frequently has been concerning timing, scheduling, "getting it all done", and the like. Among entrepreneurs it's always important to use your time wisely & be productive, lest you waste precious time. As a mother & wife, it's important to make sure you're making time for what's important (family, friends, domestic obligations, etc) as well. Yet balancing it all is ever the precarious subject. To do or not to do really becomes a harrowing question. The issue comes down to legacy however. How will you be looked upon & remembered? Are you the example to live by, giving time & attention to what was truly important in your life? Or are you the warning to remind, the cautionary tale of misplaced priorities & an unfulfilled life.
The bottom line is to focus on what matters most to you. To honor your obligations as much as your pleasures and with a nod to Venus is Pisces take each day, moment by moment with compassionate forgiveness.
