We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right. ~ Nelson Mandela
My relationship with time seems to always be a tricky one. Rushing by or dragging along these phrases make it seem like there is never a good or right time for anything. But of course that isn't true at all, because the illusion that time is anything but what it is is false. The present time is the only time there is, and ultimately all that matters!
For me to not work means to be idle. Being idle is more than just a four-letter word, it's morally detestable even. It's been ingrained in my nature to always be contributing. Usually in a specific, productive, & practical way. When I was growing up "self-care" wasn't a thing in my household and the culture of more (work) reigned. But as I settle into motherhood, for the second time, I look to this phrase:
Will I be an example or a warning?
Every now and then you need a shift. You must unsettle and disrupt things to start anew and fresh.
It's always funny what we notice about ourselves that others don't catch...
