Animal signs are one type of divination that I connect to readily. So when I see something of particular interest in the animal world I always sit up and pay attention. Walking out the door on the day of the New Moon I idly looked about as I fiddled about for my keys. Noting some leaf litter I suddenly felt compelled to look at again because it just didn't seem right. Lo and behold it was a bat. What a curious thing to see in the morning right? Well the thought stayed with me throughout the day and I knew I had to share it with you. More importantly I knew I had to look into the energy myself... Bat medicine is about transition, initiation, new things coming to light even. A time of real growth, but that can only be gained by releasing some fear that you have. Transitions don't have to be scary and much of the time it is not the change but the coming unknown that we really fear. I really enjoy bats! I've been fascinated by them ever since I was five, and my neighbor discovered a nest of baby bats and showed them to me. I'd thought they were just made-up animals, found only on cartoons, till I saw them with my own eyes.
