Reiki, also known as "Universal Life Energy" is a healing modality centered around the discoveries of a Japanese teacher, Mikao Usui. Formally it is comprised of symbols and hand placements aimed at balancing the body's energetic systems to achieve total wellness. It cannot be misused in any way and is useful for the self & others!
