A Note to New Reiki Students
I just wanted to thank you all for taking an interest in this wonderful healing art! It is truly a joy to be able to pass on this knowledge to you and I wish you well in your healings to come, be they self, for others, or both!
Some concerns I want to you to keep in mind...
Reiki is Universal Life Energy, therefore it is very powerful stuff - to put it mildly. Even for those who have undergone treatments or other attunements there will be a shifting of your energies. Some people experience what has been called a "healing crisis", generally this is merely the expressing of the energies in all of your bodies balancing itself out. The first is usually the most dramatic (if you experience one at all) and that would be for the reasoning that you are being introduced to the energies and that they will first work on you and allow you to work on others.
For those of you experiencing Reiki level 1 (of whatever specific tradition) you will be instructed in the very basics of energy healing and be going over merely the grit of starting. There will be no symbols passed down for you to learn or write, and it is all mostly centered around hands on healings via touch.
For those of you experiencing Reiki level 2 (of whatever specific tradition) this is where some of the more "complicated" exercises will come into play. Here you are often introduced to a higher frequency of energy, and given the symbols (which you should learn and memorize) to use in your healings. Along with these symbols is generally the ability to heal distantly or remotely (or just with hands off) and to deal with deeper issues like those regarding the psyche and emotions.
For those of you experiencing Reiki level 3 you will be given the final symbols and the attunement process guidelines. With this information you will be able to attune others at any of the levels.
I include all of this information for everyone so that all can have an overview of Reiki and it's levels. However, I do stress that everyone's experience is different and even the specific traditions within Reiki differ themselves. Some focus very much on the traditional teachings whereas others are more apt to be intuitively and more loosely guided. This is not to say that any tradition is better or worse for any one person so much as each tradition is different and you may find an easier time working with one than another.
I fully stress that you ask any questions you may have at any time. Many of these manuals are in fact not written by me or anyone that I know, therefore I cannot account for the lacking of certain information, however since I am acting as your teacher I will either make arrangements (or have) or find out anything that may be missing for you.
Some of these manuals I will be working on myself to provide additional information, I will not be crediting this to the system itself per se so much as something I just tack on to my sending you the original manual. Others I will be fully re-writing because they may be, for lack of better phrasing, unclear and therefore difficult to understand.
Do understand that as you perform and grow as a healer you may be called to work in a specific way that may or may not be in accordance with your original teachings. As your teacher I fully support you doing things in a manner that befits your understanding and allows for ease of practice.
On a final note, feedback, feedback, feedback! Do not hesitate to communicate how you feel in regards to your attunement(s) or when healing another any impressions that they may get. These messages from Spirit allow us to better serve as Healers and grow into Beings of Light!
