I've made a view mentions of it, but if you've missed me on Facebook and Twitter here it is. Lately I've been dealing with some serious neck pain. Paying attention to your body & the physical is something I teach my clients first before we do any other work. When you realize what you're doing and the affects it has on your life it's much easier to make positive changes. Many times you make decisions about how to deal with things in your lives because you feel it's your only option. The trouble is when these aren't really healthy choices they can have longstanding reverberations in your lives. In addition there is also the consideration of the deeper meaning of your choices. Your choices come from an emotional standpoint. You make choices to fulfill certain needs or avoid certain feelings. Knowing and understanding this you can stop the cycle of destructive behavior. One of the key steps in doing this is awareness. When you see what you are doing it's easier to make a different choice. Important to note is that when you notice your behavior, you shouldn't judge yourself for the action. Merely notice it and the feelings surrounding it. Look to where you physically feel it, emotionally, as well as mentally. Placing blame furthers the guilt for taking the action and continues the cycle. After you have taken the steps to being aware & made the decision to accept it rather than judge yourself, consider how you would like to feel and how that factors into your choices. Once you understand why you're making a decision, the feelings you're wanting to have (or not have), you can re-direct your energy into what you do want. Take my neck for example... I have a burning pain at the base of my neck. It's not made better with any action or inaction, it's persistent. In the last week I've been "sleeping funny". It started as knots & a "crick" in my neck, then my dog slept pressing on my neck one morning while I slept in one morning. There are lots of factors to consider, some aren't apparent in my account. (But I'll make it easy on you and shortcut the process.) Details to consider:
Because people are creatures of habits, many of the parts of a problem may repeat the same message. As you can see here inflexibility (eg. rigidity), fear of the unknown, and stubbornness are big points of contention. As Wayne Dyer says, "What we resist persists." So the questions I should ask myself would include:
These questions answered are a start. As with any healing session you have to start somewhere and the amount of relief you will find will vary. Since these issues repeat I know that resolving them will give me some relief, however I also know myself enough to know that they are longstanding issues which I will have difficulty releasing. In addition to looking at the metaphysical & symbolic implications of a physical issue, there's also numerology and the chakra system to consider. I address these in my Wellness Coaching including sessions that are all inclusive (Reiki Wellness Sessions) as well as those that specialize in numerology (Cosmic Numerology Wellness Report) & other intuitive methods (Intuitive Counseling & Healing Session).
